Rebecca Kleefisch Endorsed by Majority of Wisconsin’s Sheriffs

Perhaps they remember Tony Evers dawdling while Kenosha burned and throwing law enforcement under the bus.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Rebecca Kleefisch has received the endorsement of the majority of Wisconsin’s sheriffs.

In a press release, her campaign called her “the tough-on-crime leader Wisconsin needs to clean up our streets. That’s why today she’s pleased to announce the endorsement of the majority of Wisconsin’s Sheriffs, further cementing her position as law enforcement’s choice for Governor of Wisconsin.” (Note: we previously explained how Evers failed the community of Kenosha. But he’s never missed a chance to rush to judgment against police…)

“I am humbled to have the support of the majority of Wisconsin’s Sheriffs in our fight to take back Wisconsin,” Kleefisch noted. “Unlike Tony Evers, I’ll support law enforcement and ensure that the brave men and women who protect our communities have the tools they need to keep Wisconsin families safe. We need a governor who will stand up for law and order instead of allowing lawlessness to go unchecked.”

These 39 Sheriffs join the more than 2,500 members of the Wisconsin Fraternal Order of Police and the more than 1,400 members of the Milwaukee Police Association in their support for Rebecca for Governor.

Here are some of the quotes from sheriffs released by the campaign:

Sheriff Eric Severson, Waukesha County:

“Rebecca stands with law enforcement as we work to protect our communities. We need strong leaders who will acknowledge and support law enforcement’s efforts. That’s why she has my full support as she runs for Governor of Wisconsin.”

Sheriff David Beth, Kenosha County:

“Rebecca Kleefisch is law enforcement’s choice for Wisconsin governor because she will always back the badge and support the rule of law. We need Rebecca Kleefisch in charge to get Wisconsin back on track.”

Sheriff Jim Johnson, Ozaukee County:

“Wisconsinites can trust Rebecca Kleefisch to back the badge and give law enforcement the tools we need to keep our communities safe. There is no better candidate for Wisconsin governor than Rebecca Kleefisch.”

Sheriff Martin Schulteis, Washington County:

“Law enforcement needs a champion in the governor’s office. I’m proud to support Rebecca for governor because she knows what officers deal with each day and will always have our back.”

Sheriff Dale Schmidt, Dodge County:

“My endorsement for the next Governor of our State goes to Rebecca Kleefisch. Governor Evers, like Attorney General Kaul, has turned his back on law enforcement and as a result turned his back on our communities. Rebecca Kleefisch will bring us back to where we need to be.”

Sheriff Kurt Picknell, Walworth County:

“Rebecca has a proven track record of working with and supporting law enforcement to keep our communities safe. I’m proud to endorse her for Governor of Wisconsin.”
