Top Republicans were elated by the Milwaukee Republican National Convention news.
The Republican National Convention is likely coming to Milwaukee in 2024, the Wisconsin Republican Party confirmed.
“Today, the Republican National Committee’s site selection committee voted to recommend Milwaukee as the host city for the 2024 Republican National Convention – the culmination of months of hard work from the Milwaukee Host Committee, local elected officials, and VISIT Milwaukee,” the party wrote in a press statement.
“A Milwaukee convention would bring up to 50,000 visitors to the city and add $200 million to the local economy. The full 168 members of the RNC will vote to approve the site selection committee’s decision at their summer meeting in August.”

In response, GOP candidate for governor Rebecca Kleefisch said in a press statement:
“Democrats abandoned Milwaukee in 2020, and when we get to showcase Wisconsin to the nation in 2024, a Republican governor will be there to greet them. The GOP was born here in Wisconsin, and we’re ready to celebrate our legacy of freedom and put a Republican back in the White House.”
Reince Priebus, the former Wisconsin Republican Party head who once led the Republican National Committee, tweeted, “I have always known that Milwaukee is the perfect place for the Republican Party to hold its convention. Wisconsin is a battleground state, Milwaukee is a fabulous city and the people of Wisconsin are the best in America.”
He continued, “Thank you to the RNC, Visit Milwaukee, and Chairwoman McDaniel for believing in Milwaukee. We will have a blast – it will be a great way to work together so that the Republican Party and our great country can begin the process of electing a President of the United States.”
