Scott Walker Endorses Rebecca Kleefisch for Governor

Former Governor Scott Walker announced his formal endorsement of Rebecca Kleefisch for Governor of Wisconsin in a video message.

Walker will be at a rally for Kleefisch in Pewaukee this evening.

Kleefisch, who was Walker’s lieutenant governor, is running for the Republican nomination in an increasingly crowded field that also includes former U.S. Marine Kevin Nicholson, state Rep. Timothy Ramthun, and former Police Officer Adam Fischer.

Business owner Jonathan Wichmann is now running for lieutenant governor instead.

Here is what Walker said in the endorsement video:

Hey, Scott Walker here. I’m going to tell you a little bit about my friend Rebecca Kleefisch. She’s a leader, she’s a conservative, and without a doubt, she’s a fighter. I first got to know Rebecca years ago when she was on TV exposing the waste, fraud, and abuse in government. Then a few years later, she stood up and was one of the first public figures to join the tea party movement in Wisconsin.

Not long after that, she decided to run for office herself, taking on the establishment. In fact, she defeated a candidate who was supported by nearly all the Capitol insiders.

During our eight years together as Governor and Lieutenant Governor, she stood with me step-by-step as we took on the big government special interests and pushed forward the most conservative agenda in the entire nation.

All that time she was fighting her own battle with cancer. And I gotta tell you, there’s no one I would rather have with me as an ally in our state capitol than Rebecca Kleefisch.

She is a committed conservative who never backs away from a fight.

Now Rebecca is ready to move forward and take back Wisconsin. In particular, she’s ready to take back our schools, clean up our streets, and get Wisconsin working again.

That’s why I’m proud to endorse Rebecca for governor.
